eBay Listing Template Settings: Shipping Sections (Domestic and International)

You can create a shipping rate table in your eBay seller account. The rate table determines the shipping fees on your listing.

You can use your saved eBay rate table by selecting Default from the Rate Table drop-down. We will submit the shipping methods, discounted shipping profiles, and location exclusions you enter in your Solid Commerce Listing Template. However, we will not control the shipping fees on your listings.

Select the shipping method you want to offer buyers as their first option.

Selecting generic methods gives you the flexibility to ship using any method you want. You can also choose from all the carrier specific options available on eBay (USPS, FedEx, or UPS options).

If you select Calculate Shipping Rate from the Shipping Rate drop-down, you must select a carrier specific option in this field. eBay can only calculate the fees for specific shipping methods.

If you select Calculate Shipping Rate from the Shipping Rate drop-down, or check the Check for free shipping on first offered ship service box, you will not see the service fees fields. Here are the descriptions for each field:

First: Enter the dollar amount you want to charge buyers.

Additional: If a buyer purchases two or more of the same product from a single listing, one item will be billed the shipping fee saved in the First field. All of the additional items will be billed the fee in this Additional field.

EXAMPLE: You enter 4.99 in the First field and 1.99 in the Additional field. A buyer purchases a quantity of two from the listing. Their shipping fee will be: $6.98 ($4.99 for the first item + $1.99 for the additional item).

Surcharge: This field only works with FedEx and UPS shipping methods. Use it to enter an additional amount you want to charge buyers shipping their order to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico.

These fields are easy to overwrite through Excel or the user interface as you list items.

Check to apply domestic flat (or calculated) shipping discount profile

You can create discount profiles directly in your eBay seller account. The rules allow you to combine multiple items (or orders) into one package to offer shipping savings to the buyer. The profiles can be created for both flat and calculated shipping.

The item with the highest shipping fee is used as a base. Then eBay either adds (or subtracts) a small fee for each additional item based on the rule.

Select any types of addresses you don't want to ship to: Alaska/Hawaii, US Protectorates, APO/FPO, and/or PO Box.

EXAMPLE: You can create one rule that prints UPS Ground labels for most domestic orders. You can create a second rule that prints USPS Priority labels for any orders to Alaska, Hawaii, or PO Boxes. For more information about creating rules, see Creating Shipping Rules to Automate Your Shipping.

To provide exclusions through Excel, use the column header ebay exclude ship to locations and enter: Alaska/Hawaii, US Protectorates, APO/FPO, or PO Box into your cells. To exclude multiple locations, separate each location by a semicolon (;). You don't need to add a space after the semicolon.

Select Will ship worldwide or Will ship to selected areas and countries (select to view) from the drop-down.

Many people use the Will ship to selected areas and countries setting to offer specific pricing or shipping options to particular regions.

EXAMPLE: You select a First Offered Mail Service of: UPS Standard To Canada. You will want to select Will ship to selected areas and countries (select to view) in the First Ship to Location drop-down. You will also check Canada in the Select By Region section.

eBay's Global Shipping Program makes shipping orders to international buyers easy. All you need to do is ship your order to an eBay shipping center in the United States. From there, eBay manages the international shipping and customs process.

If you prefer, you can enable this option on an item-by-item basis through Excel or the user interface.

If you enable the Global Shipping option, you will need to provide Package Information.

In order to participate in the Global Shipping Program, you first need to opt in through eBay. For full information, see eBay's Help: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/shipping-globally.html.

The height, length, and width of your packages. Accuracy in this field is generally most important when you are shipping oversized packages. On oversized packages, eBay's shipping calculation will need to reflect the carrier's overage charges.

If your packages are standard sized, you can enter some representative dimensions in your eBay Listing Template.

You can also provide eBay dimensions when you list items through Excel or the user interface if you need to overwrite the values saved in your listing template.
