The Sales Tax Options Section
Field Names |
Field Descriptions and Valid Values |
Check to collect sales tax for product sales | Check this box if you want to collect sales tax on the price of the product. This option must be selected before the other sales tax options will appear. |
Check to charge sales tax according to sales tax table |
You can create a tax table in your eBay account to specify the states you want to collect tax in. The table will also allow you to specify the percentage for each state and select whether tax should be charged on shipping fees. For more information, see eBay's Help: http://pages.ebay.com/help/pay/checkout-tax-table.html. If you have created a tax table on eBay, you can use it through Solid Commerce by checking this box. Checking this option causes the Manual Set Sales Tax (%, State) option to disappear. |
Check to calculate sales tax with shipping fees | If you need to collect tax on the shipping fees paid by your buyers, check this box. |
Manual Set Sales Tax (%, State) | Use this option if you only need to charge tax in one state. First, select a state from the drop-down menu. Then, enter a number representing the sales tax percentage in the text field. |
Key Fields in the Additional Features Section
This section of the eBay Listing Template contains many seldom used features. eBay charges additional fees for some of them.
This article only covers the most popular additional options. eBay's user interface and documentation should be able to answer any questions you have regarding features not covered in the following table.
Key Fields |
Field Descriptions and Valid Values of Key Fields |
Allow Buyers to send "Best Offers" requests |
Check this box if you want buyers to be able to send you purchase offers. Automatically rejecting or accepting offers from buyers is optional, but can save you time. Unless many of your products can use the same Min Price and Accept Price , leave these fields blank in your eBay Listing Template. You can provide the decline and accept prices on an item-by-item basis through Excel or the user interface. In Excel, you can even use formulas to automatically calculate the values based on the Buy It Now price in your file. As an example, you can automatically reject any offers that are not at least 80% of your Buy It Now price. |
Get It Fast | To qualify for eBay's Get It Fast program, you must: offer at least one overnight domestic shipping option on your listing, ship the order within one business day, and offer a quick payment option (such as PayPal). Participating in the Get It Fast program may allow you to get an automatic 5-star shipping time on your detailed seller rating. For full details, see eBay's Help: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/get-it-fast.html. |
Include International Site Visibility |
Check this option if you want your eBay.com listings to appear on eBay UK and Canada. Your listings must meet the eligibility requirements, such as offering shipping to the international countries you want to post to. Please review eBay's Help for more information: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/globalexposure.html. IMPORTANT! eBay charges an insertion fee for each US listing they post internationally. For a complete breakdown of eBay's fees, see their fee page: http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html. If you offer shipping options to Canada, your US listing will automatically be displayed in eBay.ca search results. |
Include Gallery (Gallery Image URL) |
The gallery image is the small thumbnail that is visible when buyers search eBay. We recommend supplying one by selecting the Include Gallery (Gallery Image URL) radio button in your eBay Listing Template. Paste this HTML tag into the text field: <main:imageurl />. This tag will instruct Solid Commerce to submit your main image to eBay as the gallery image. |
The Payment Options Section
Field Names |
Field Descriptions and Valid Values |
Payment Profile ID |
eBay allows you to create payment policies directly in your seller account. The benefit of using eBay's business policies for payments, shipping, and returns is that policy revisions you make in your eBay seller account are automatically updated onto your listings. To use a payment profile on your listings, enter its policy ID number in this field. If you are using an eBay policy, you do not need to fill out the remainder of the payment options in this section of the template. For more information about using eBay business policies, see Using eBay's Business Policies Through Solid Commerce (Shipping, Payment, and Return Profiles). |
PayPal Email | Enter the email address associated with you PayPal account. |
Force Immediate PayPal Payment | Check this box if you want buyers to pay for their Buy It Now orders immediately. This option prevents Waiting for Buyer orders. It also prevents buyers for requesting order totals from you, so make sure you include all relevant shipping fees and discount rules on your listings. |
Payment Methods |
It is recommended that you accept PayPal payments on your listings. In order to accept major credit cards yourself, you must register your internet merchant account with eBay. If you select any of the credit card payment methods without going through eBay's registration process, you will receive policy violation errors when you attempt to list products through Solid Commerce. Buyers can always pay with their credit card through PayPal, even if you do not select any credit card options on your listing. For more information about accepted eBay payment methods, see eBay's Help: http://pages.ebay.com/help/pay/accepted-payment-methods.html. |
