NEW: Creating New Catalog Listings from Solid Commerce to Amazon

This article describes the process for creating brand new listings on Amazon through Solid Commerce using our Excel Add-In Tool and NEW Amazon Listing Data Uploader.

If you'd like to add yourself to listings that already exist in Amazon's catalog using a UPC, ISBN, EAN, or ASIN, please see this article

Just like when you create new listings directly on Amazon, new products listed through Solid Commerce appear on Amazon as fulfilled by merchant. To turn your merchant fulfilled listings into FBA listings, see Amazon's Seller Central help article Listing products for Fulfillment by Amazon.

What we'll cover in this article:

  1. Creating a new product on Solid Commerce

  2. Downloading a Listing Template From Solid Commerce portal

  3. Populating Your Template With Products

  4. Listing Variations

  5. Uploading Your File

  6. Start the listing process

  7. Updating Your Live Amazon Listings

  8. Troubleshooting

NOTE: if you are familiar with the previous process for creating new catalog listings from Solid Commerce to Amazon, there are a few changes with this new process.

  • Skus must first exist in a Solid Commerce warehouse and your Solid Commerce Amazon Marketlist

  • Amazon does not currently provide required values for each category.

  • You will load your Solid Commerce Amazon Marketlist items via the Excel Add in Tool and will upload your Amazon specific data in the NEW Amazon Listing Data Uploader in the UI.  You will not combine the data into one file and upload via the Excel Add in Tool as you previously did.

  • Automation should be turned on as the last step. Either on the UI or via Excel Add in Tool. Many merchants use Product Attributes to help filter out their skus on the UI to turn on automation.

This field controls the price of your item on Amazon.

You have two options for populating it:

  • When updating existing listings, Amazon will keep the current template.

amazon leadtime to ship

Amazon includes handling time as a field in two of their processes:

  1. Creating new listings.

  2. Updating inventory.

We manage the handling time for both processes with our amazon leadtime to ship field.

If you ever update the amazon leadtime to ship in Solid Commerce, we will automatically submit the new handling time the next time we send an inventory update. If you want to update it faster, select the item in your Amazon Market List and click the Update Listings button.

If you leave this field blank, Amazon will use their default value of one to two business days.

You have two options for populating this field:

  1. Enter a number with up to two decimal places and no currency symbol.

If you supply an amazon onsale price exp, you must also provide an amazon sale start date and an amazon sale end date.

Any changes to the standard price on Amazon removes the on sale price. In Solid Commerce, you should apply a fixed price rule to items with sale prices, not a repricing rule.

amazon sale start date

amazon sale end date

The last date the sale price will be displayed on Amazon. Only the standard price will be displayed after this date.
