Amazon's Price Groups Explained

Amazon creates groups of sellers with similar characteristics on each listing.

If you use the Win the Buy Box option on your Amazon repricer rules in Solid Commerce, we use the lowest price from your Amazon group when we increase your price after you win the Buy Box.

If you don't use the Win the Buy Box option on your Amazon Pricing Rules, Amazon's price groups do not pertain to you. You can skip this article.

To learn more about maximizing your profit while trying to win the Buy Box, see Amazon Repricing: Guide to the "Win the Buy Box" Option.

Amazon Price Groups

In simple terms, each Amazon price group consists of sellers that have the same: item condition, feedback range, and fulfillment method (FBA or FBM).

In more detailed terms, Amazon creates a group for each combination of the following six qualifiers. However, there may not be any sellers that qualify for many of the combinations.

EXAMPLE: You may find yourself in a group with many other sellers that have the following qualifiers: Item Condition - New, Item Subcondition - New, Fulfillment Channel - Merchant, Ships Domestically - True, Shipping Time - 0-2 days, and Seller Positive Feedback Rating - 95-97%.

However, there may be no sellers in the group with the following qualifiers: Item Condition - Used, Item Subcondition - Good, Fulfillment Channel - Amazon, Ships Domestically - True, Shipping Time - 0-2 days, and Seller Positive Feedback Rating - 80-89%.
