Using the FTP Application FileZilla
Many people access their FTP account through FTP software.
FileZilla is a popular FTP application. You can download it for free at: http://www.filezilla-project.org/download.php. Click the Show additional download options link on the page to ensure you download the correct version. You will be redirected to a SourceForge link. The SourceForge URL should end with ?nowrap.
To connect FileZilla to your FTP account:
- Enter your:
- Host — scftp.solidcommerce.com.
- Username — Your Solid Commerce user email address.
- Password — Your Solid Commerce user password.
- Click the Quickconnect button.
To save your FTP site for future use:
- One of the advantages of using FTP software is that you can save time connecting by storing your FTP site.
- In FileZilla go to the File menu -> Site Manager… (or use CTRL+S).
Adding files:
- The easiest way to post files is to navigate to the correct folder in the Filename panel on the lower right-hand side of the interface.
- Drag and drop your files into the Filename panel.
Using Microsoft Windows
You don't need to install FTP software to connect to your FTP site. You can manage your FTP directly through Windows.
To connect Windows to your FTP account:
- Open a fresh window.
- In the Address Bar, paste the Solid Commerce FTP Host Address: ftp://scftp.solidcommerce.com.
- In the Log On pop-up, enter your:
- Username — Your Solid Commerce user email address.
- Password — Your Solid Commerce user password.
- Click the Log On button.
Adding files:
- Navigate to the correct folder in your FTP window.
- In a second window, navigate to the files you want to transfer.
- Drag and drop your files into the FTP window.
