Address Validation by Shipping Carrier

If you ship your packages through Solid Commerce, you can enable Address Validation to help ensure shipping accuracy by automatically checking customer-provided addresses against the carrier database you choose.

This process verifies street addresses, cities, states, and ZIP codes before a label is created, reducing the risk of delivery delays, returned packages, and additional surcharges from carriers.

You will need to have your Carrier account connected to Solid Commerce before proceeding to next steps.  Shipping Carriers can be connected under Admin>Shipping Carriers.

Steps to Enable Address Validation

1. Go to Admin >Order Automation Rules > Address Validation Rules

2. Under Configuring Address Validation, select your choice. By default "Do not Validate address for incoming orders" is selected.

  • Do not validate address for incoming orders
  • Perform address validation for all incoming orders
  • Perform address validation for all incoming orders, but exclude shipped and partially shipped orders

3. You will then select the carrier that you would like to use for address validation.

4. Make sure to Save your changes
